View DetailsIoT is an entirely new ecosystem with a new type of data being generated, where devices also reveal user data and trends. The application of IoT in the area of seat finding system in buses has been a transition process and movement from traditional system to new and more active system.
The incorporation of these technologies in the seat finding system eases management challenges experienced, with regards to self-servicing, monitoring, and tracking of seats in the Bus. The implementation of pressure pad sensor technology on Bus resources like seats, in order to provide information on their availability and usage, has helped to reduce the amount of chaos and disturbance in seat finding process.
Implementation of these sensor technologies improves the sensing of accurate data about occupant and occupancy of Bus seat utilization. The challenges faced by passengers in locating unoccupied seats and details of seat occupants in the Bus are central to this research. This system provides a smart bus seat occupant and occupancy information system.
